The ring main unit is a group of electrical transmission and distribution equipment (high-voltage switchgear). The ring network refers to a ring distribution network, that is, the power supply trunk forms a closed ring power supply to supply power to the ring trunk, and then distributes power to the outside through high-voltage switches one by one from the trunk. The advantage of this is that the branch circuit can get power from both the left and right lines. When the left line fails, it continues to get power from the right trunk, and vice versa. From each distribution branch, it gets the benefit of dual-circuit power supply, thereby improving the reliability of power supply.
It is widely used in distribution stations and box-type substations in load centers such as urban residential areas, high-rise buildings, large public buildings, factories and enterprises.
